Although, I have decided to shelf my own proofreading services in favor of focusing on developmental and copy/line editing, I still believe in its important role in the publishing journey. Trust me, even if you get a copyedit, you don’t want to skip the final proofreading. Proofreading is the final step prior to publication. This round of editing does not include any suggestions for improvement of the story. Instead, it focuses on checking for any lingering typos, double words, grammatical errors, punctuation, spelling, and formatting issues. If you have been working with an editor on the previous rounds of edits, it is best to get a fresh set of eyes for this step.
