A Waltz to Remember
A short prequel to Dragon Lake with a fun, new take on Swan Lake…only this princess is no swan.
The first book of the series by Ulysses Namon takes us on a journey through space as one woman defies the easy path laid out for her, instead seeking her place among the proud Federation Rangers. Tomi Ryan must undergo rigorous training before entering the last frontier alongside other humans and sentient beings, with a promise to keep as many safe as she can. You’ll love the grit and charisma of this spicy heroine who doesn’t know how to back down from a fight, but will that be the death of her or will she prove herself among the elite?
The third book in Ulysses Namon’s series rejoins Tomi on a newly inhabited and contested planet, where she must be the Federation’s acting sheriff. Olin, Seeker, and more familiar favorites return to assist our revered ranger with this monumental task. But when hostile alien creatures want the foreign intruders to vacate their home turf immediately, a war for the ages begins, causing the Federation and Imperium to join forces should they wish to survive. Meanwhile, a nearby planet threatens to wipe them all out before they even know what happened. With the clock ticking and more trouble brewing on every page, has Tomi taken on more than she can handle?
When four people wake up on a spaceship with no memories, they must trust each other if they wish to survive. Follow each character in turn as they discover their true identity, which for some could be damaging to the familial bond they have begun to build together. With suspense on every page, the protagonists’ individual discoveries will keep you guessing just what will happen next, making this sci-fi a truly out-of-this-world experience.
Having witnessed Tomi’s admirable growth as a ranger, the second book in Ulysses Namon’s series picks up with her boyfriend, Olin, undergoing the extensive physical tests to join the Survey Service. Unfortunately, his first mission includes an a mutineer aboard their ship. Olin and his fellow scientists soon find themselves in survival mode on a foreign planet that holds more secrets than first meet the eye. Fortunately, Tomi learns of Olin’s misfortunate and races to save him, but with a massive combat robot hunting them and strange beasts that want to devour them at every turn, will Tomi be able to rescue them in time?

Her suggestions I believe will go a long way in making the book a much more enjoyable read. When finished I plan to have her edit my third book Balor’s Shadow.

Ulysses Namon, author of Rangers of the Federation: Ranger’s Sojourn (Book 1)

I followed my instincts when I chose Mandi as my editor and I’m so glad I did. She quickly understood my writing style and where I was going with the book. Biruh Woldearegay, author of You Are Divine: Biblical Affirmations for Children

Why select Mandi out of many editors? Maybe because I liked a song decades ago called “Mandy.” I loved the song back then, so why not now? I reached out to her and it turns out that I made the perfect choice. Mandi has been a true gift to me. I am very fortunate that she accepted my material with the task to take my words and edit them to reflect what I envisioned in my heart.

Aware that there is still a lot of thought that needs to go into the completion of the other aspects for my first book, I am excited as I approach the finish line with the editing. We have had some discussion on the second book, but Mandi will definitely be my editor. I am not a very good computer person, but Mandi is supportive and kind as I journey through the editing of my first book. I love her style, the transition of my words, and her blending the context is wonderful. I always look forward to the blended revision. I wish I could write with Mandi’s style, but that is why she is so good at her job. You’re the best, Mandi!

Bill Schmidt, author of Moments (coming soon!)

I’m again thrilled with your work, Mandi! After working on my contemporary romance novel, Houston in September with you, I wanted to do something fun and light-hearted. The result was Mewok Goes to Mew York. MGTMY morphed into a full story courtesy of suggestions derived from your developmental edit, after starting as board book length.

I’m happy to report the book had its first ARC review by a local Grade 4 class, after a teacher heard Lightning Legs was in his class. It received its first glowing review, as reported back by Lightning Legs herself. “They thought it was terrific.”

S.E. Saunders, author of Mewok Goes to Mew York

While this was only my first endeavor into hiring an editor, I could instantly tell that Mandi was something special. She is so polite and such a pleasure to work with. Additionally, she edits really well!

L.E. Santos, author of I Am You

Mandi was incredibly thorough in her editorial letter, providing scene-by-scene and high-level feedback. She was encouraging, providing specific details on what I did right. At the same time, she was clear in her suggestions for what needed improvement and how to go about it. As an example of her attention to detail, she provided notes on consistency, like when or whether things were introduced or anything that didn’t come up again later but probably should. I would work with Mandi again.

It was wonderful working with you again! The line edits were extremely thorough and thoughtful, adding depth as well as flow and accuracy. Additionally, the feedback on the changes I made in response to the developmental edits was so valuable. I would absolutely love to work with Mandi again.

Lou Rays, author of Rimrunner Awakens

Another great job—you have certainly added value to these projects and I am grateful for your fantastic skill! Your notes were amazing. I truly appreciated the thoughtfulness you obviously had when making your comments. I believe you have added tremendous value to these projects. Thank you.

Wilson Baker, Jr., author of Murder on a Catamaran (coming soon!)

Thank you, Mandi. You breathed new life into my book. I was very appreciative how you paid attention to the technical aspects of my manuscript such as numbering, fact checking, reference formats, flow, and accuracy. The entire process has been organized and very professional. I would highly recommend your skills to any author. Thank you for your valuable help!

Mandi Nuttall, author of The Birthday Suit Book 1 and The Family Values Journal

Once again, thank you Mandi! Your editing help is priceless–my quirky commas, half-baked hyphens, and endless ellipses attest to that!

Tracy Herrmann, author of Cadillac the Gentle Bull

I just love everything about [Mandi] and the way she does her business. Professional with a personal touch.

I cannot thank you enough for the detailed feedback and suggestions…. I could tell you had given appropriate consideration to what I had written in the context of the larger story arc. Then you went over and beyond, providing me with a scene by scene breakdown and character bible. For a first time experience with an editor, I am so pleased. Beyond pleased, actually. I can’t wait to dig into the rewrite process, given this new information.

I can’t say enough about how wonderful of an experience it has been to work with you on Houston in September. You provided excellent suggestions during the developmental editing phase helping me to turn an “okay” novel into something that shines (and made me cry in the appropriate places) with the copy/line edit. The entire process of working with you helped me level up as an author. What I considered a non-starter of a novel not worthy of publishing I will now proudly market on KDP and IngramSpark. Seeing what you did with the DE/CLE and knowing you’re working on your own novel too, I will gladly ask you to edit my future novels, and eagerly look forward to your upcoming novel because I am certain it will be written with as much care as you took with my work. Thank you again!

Sharon Saunders, author of Houston in September

Thank you, Mandi! It’s such a joy working with you!

Tracy Herrmann, author of Here Comes Wailin’ Jenny!

It was such a pleasure to work with you on this portion of the project. The continuous feedback you provided was immensely beneficial to my story and my confidence as a new writer.

This has been a memorable and enjoyable experience. I can’t imagine how the novel would have turned out without your keen insights. Looking forward to working with you again.

Brandon Phillips, author of Foreign & Domestic

Mandi Summit’s feedback to the first draft of my story was practically and creatively very helpful!  She gave fantastic suggestions and insights about the flow and arc of my story and pointed out parts she thought were superfluous to the plot. Mandi was encouraging and put her finger on the parts of the story she thought were great and functioned well.  She also identified where I needed to expand and develop certain character and plot elements.  Her insight and perspective were genuinely constructive and helpful for me!

Danny Plett, author of Sherri and the Sasquatch (coming soon!)

Mandi is a delightful person and professional who took care of my proofreading needs, within my budget and time frame. I will use her services again!

Tracy Herrmann, author of Snow Pup Grows Up

I had a last-minute project that needed a quick turnaround. Mandi was not only prompt and efficient with delivery: she remained communicative both during the project and after the fact. I’d recommend her services to anyone seeking both a job well-done and a more personal touch!

R.L. Davennor, author of A Waltz to Remember (a mini prequel to Dragon Lake)
